The Charlton Fire Department is seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening for a full-time Firefighter Paramedic . We are looking for motivated individiuals who take pride in serving their community and want to contribute to the continued growth and success of our department.  Ideal candidates will have experience in the delivery of prehospital emergency care at the Paramedic level, previous firefighting experience, and a desire to be engaged in a team focused organization. Candidates should be compassionate, energetic, and driven to make a difference in the community.  There is no residency requirement.                         

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED    
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to successfully complete the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Career Recruit Training Program or Equivalent and obtain Pro Board certification as FirefighterI/II.
  • Possess and maintain Certifications as a Paramedic by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical Service or currently enrolled in paramedic program
  • Possess and maintain CPR Certification.
  • PALS certification
  • Career Recruit Firefighter I/II Certification (preferred)

Under the general direction of the Library Director, the Page is responsible for performing basic library services and clerical work in the Library. Hours may vary during the summer but will include Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturdays during the school year.

QUALIFICATIONS 

·         Requires some high school courses; and three to six months experience in customer service or retail preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Knowledge of modern library procedures.

·         Ability to interact in a positive and effective manner with employees and the public.

·         Ability to work effectively both independently and with others as required.   

·         Ability to speak clearly. Ability to execute oral and written instructions in a precise manner.

·         Ability to alphabetize and perform inventory control.

The Water/Sewer Superintendent will be responsible to plan, develop, recommend, schedule, implement, and oversee construction, maintenance, and operation and construction activities designed to provide quality water service for the town and proper discharge of wastewater; supervise contractor crews in installing new water/sewer lines, installing and relocating fire hydrants and meters, and maintaining the existing water/sewer supply and distribution systems; oversee construction and maintenance work to determine acceptability and conformity to all applicable laws, policies, procedures, practices and norms under direct control. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

*Associates degree in civil engineering or related field, additional technical training, and 5-7 years of responsible experience in public works water/sewer utility systems maintenance or any equivalent combination of education and experience. 

*Valid Driver's License

*Grade 5C or higher MA wastewater operator license and Grade 2 or higher drinking water distribution license are favorable but not required.
